SCF4 3-Axis Stepper Motor Controller

SCF4 is a compact, fully integrated 3-axis stepper motor controller System-On-Module (SOM) designed for high-density integration in products where small size, reliability and ease of use are important. It pairs an STM32F103 (ARM Cortex-M3) MCU with an ON Semiconductor LC898201 motor driver front end to drive three bipolar stepper motors (plus an optional day/night IR filter) with micro-stepping up to 1/1024 for quiet, precise motion.

Applications

SCF4 is ideal for motorized zoom/focus/aperture (FIZ+) lenses in embedded vision systems, robotics and small automation; it’s great for computer vision, scientific imaging, remote or autonomous camera systems, drones/ROVs, long-term timelapse rigs and compact motion products. The module can be connected over USB or, with custom firmware, other bus interfaces to integrate into larger systems.
